Producing and selling microalgae concentrates since 1997, Necton is proudly the oldest microalgae production company in Europe. Since its establishment Necton has been continuously developing, adapting and improving its production technologies. This evolution allowed Necton to industrially produce up to 12 different microalgae species, some of them are now part of its regular production portfolio (Nannochloropsis, Tetraselmis, Phaeodactylum, Isochrysis and Skeletonema). Apart from microalgae production technologies, Necton has developed Nutribloom®, a culture media used daily in lab and production reactors. With Nutribloom®, microalgae cultures perform better than with the normally used F/2, Walne's or Conway. Nutribloom® is a sole ready-to-use solution that saves time, labour and money. Nutribloom®, boost your algae, a reliable product signed by Necton.
A4F is a biotechnology company with more than 20 years of accumulated experience in microalgae Research & Development and microalgae production (up to industrial scale). A4F is specialized in the design, build, operation and transfer (DBOT) of commercial-scale microalgae production units, using different technologies that better adapt to our Customers’ business. Complementing our long experience, A4F distinguishes itself through its methodology which includes scaling-up from prototypes in our Experimental Unit in Lisbon to large-scale facilities. Additionally, A4F also develops standard operating procedures for optimized microalgae production, according to production goals and with industry best practices. A4F, the first choice for any large-scale contract as a specialist in microalgae production.
Algoliner developed a new and highly efficient production method for solid tubular PBR’s made out of PMMA. We are combining three development evolution steps at the same time. Instead of assembling pipe segments with joints to one large pipe system, we produce them on site. The profiles are not just pipes but having a hanging device attached. Since we hang the profiles, we reduced the wall thickness dramatically which saves more than half of the raw material. Finally we combined the profile production with their assembling in a rack system on site, which is saving a lot of manpower.
As a result we are able to realize PBR’s which are designed for a lifetime of 20 years for ultimate low costs compared to all other known methods.
POLARDRY® MAKING SPRAY DRY COOL
The future of Spray Dry & Microencapsulation
The patent-pending PolarDry® Electrostatic Spray Dryer utilizes revolutionary electrostatic technology, which drives water or solvent to the outside and solids to the inside of the atomized droplets, lowering the required evaporation temperature and eliminating active ingredient loss, degradation, or denaturalization.
Harnessing the electrostatic effect, non-polar actives can be driven into the core and efficiently microencapsulated, virtually eliminating surface active, resulting in stunning encapsulation efficiency.
Xanthella is a company specialised in the design and the manufacture of photobioreactors for the culture of photosynthetic cells like microalgae or cyanobacteria. Xanthella works with some of the finest research laboratories in Scotland to develop reliable, flexible and affordable PBR from lab to industrial scale. Xanthella’s photobioreactors provide perfectly controlled culture conditions (pH, temperature, light intensity, light dark cycle, mixing) to perform accurate research experiments and to produce a quality constant biomass. The affordability of our lab scale system, the microPharos PBRTM will help to boost and to speed up the research on the photosynthetic cells. Our industrial 1000L PBR, the Pandora PBRTM, has been developed in the frame of circular economy projects to use renewable energies directly where they are produced. Its low footprint and its internal LED light supply allow to reach high productivity in small area. It can be used for many applications from the production of food supplement or feed for aquaculture to the waste water treatment. Xanthella was founded in 2009 by Dr Douglas McKenzie. It is located at Oban in the west coast of Scotland at the European Marine Science Park.
SANI Membranes ApS is a Danish cleantech company focused on developing and commercializing the innovative Free Flow Plate technology and the disruptive Vibro™ technology for cleaner, more energy efficient, more effective and lower fouling filtration solutions for the future. The Vibro™ technology creates the needed turbulence on all membrane surfaces by vibrating the membrane relative to the media. Vibro™ eliminates the need for a cross flow pump and delivers uniform TMP throughout the systems at exceptional low energy consumption. SANI Membranes ApS is selling directly and through committed system builders, distributors and OEM's.
At times when environmental problems such as global warming and air and ground pollution are so pressing, the search for alternative fuel supply and “greener” energy is vital. Current day research identified promising alternative that is becoming increasingly more popular - bio-based fuels – plant- or animal-based materials such as crops, crop residues, trees, animal fats, by-products, and wastes.
Funded by the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, VALUEMAG project develops new magnetic cultivation and extraction techniques for microalgae. The revolutionary technology behind the process offers an innovative and eco-friendly solution that will significantly reduce the associated costs, and, thus, build more efficient microalgae-based bio-refinery systems.
The VALUEMAG technology is based on the use of magnetic nanoparticles and a soft magnetic steel cone, issue of technologic engineering research, to cultivate microalgae and to purify the high-value products resulting from their metabolism. The technology has already been tested at a small scale providing promising results.
The project is totally self-sustaining, eco-friendly and will provide socio-economic benefits to society at large. The economic benefits are also associated with a dramatic reduction in microalgae production costs, allowing this technology to become a competitive durable alternative in the current market. Social benefits will arise from the development of new and innovative biomass production plants by supporting new job creation and outside investments in local European communities.
Esam is an italian company that manufactures side channel blowers and blower systems since 1980. Even though our machines can be considered as "niche products", today we manufacture approx. 55.000 pumps per year that are sold all over the world and are used in very different application fields, as medicine, industry, ecology and agricolture.
Our blower systems are reliable, flexible, high performant and can be easily integrated in the photobioreactors aeration plants.
