Award Evening
On Thursday, 12 December 2024, AlgaEurope will host its first-ever Award Evening. In addition to the Poster Presentation Award, both a Personality Award and a Successful Stories Award will be presented.

For the second time a Poster Presentation Award will be awarded to the best posters of AlgaEurope 2024.

In order to participate in the Poster Presentation Award:
- You submitted an abstract and your abstracts has been accepted for AlgaEurope 2024
- You are registered for AlgaEurope 2024
- You have confirmed that you will present a poster and you will bring your poster to AlgaEurope 2024
- You need to send your poster as a PDF by 2 December 2024 via wetransfer to a.ivanko@dlg.org
Evaluation:
- Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards will be nominated by the AlgaEurope Evaluation Committee
- Audience Awards: Delegates will evaluate the posters in the AlgaEurope app and decide whose poster deserves an award
Prize for winners:
- Gold Winner: Conference ticket incl. conference dinner for AlgaEurope 2025, social media post about the Gold Winner, article in AlgaEurope newsletter with information about the winner and his/her research
- Silver Winner: Voucher for Springer eBooks of 300 Euro, conference dinner, mentioned in social media promotion, mentioned in AlgaEurope newsletter
- Bronze Winner: Voucher for Springer eBooks of 100 Euro, mentioned in social media promotion, mentioned in AlgaEurope newsletter

Successful Stories
About the awards
The European Algae Biomass Association (EABA) represents the algae-related field in Europe, aiming for the sustainable development of this sector and the enlargement of its contribution to the EU Economy. As part of its activities, the EABA aims to recognize major contributions in the field, both from the academic and industrial sectors, that promote the development of algae-based products and processes, the environmental sustainability and social acceptance of these products/processes and the improvement of regulations related to algae in Europe. In this context, The EABA awards on an annual basis a recognition prize to acknowledge members whose most recent innovations, best practices and achievements have created value and contributed to the algae sector's growth and recognition. The members must be able to show their effective success story and its impact. This call aims to disseminate the algae industry role models and inspire others (young algaeneers, algae-preneurs) to pursue their innovative ideas and build their own success stories. In this sense, up to three awards will be provided:
- One R&D Project Prize;
- One Industrial Development Prize;
- One Young Student of the Year prize (less than 30 years old);
The awards will be made according to the rules defined in the procedure of concession. Read more about the regulations.
